From the first duty point to the tenth overhaul

Selection, casting, machining, assembly, testing and service, all from one works and all traced by one casing number.

Process

Five stages from sand to shipping

Each stage shows the work. The record of every stage is kept against the pump’s casing number.
// Stage 1 of 5 //

Cast

Casings, covers and impellers are poured from grey iron, ductile iron, bronze and stainless. Every heat is sampled, and its chemistry is recorded against the casting number.
About three weeks from pattern to casting
// Stage 2 of 5 //

Machine

Flanges are faced and drilled to EN 1092-1. Bores and seal chambers are turned in one setting so the rotor runs true, and impellers are trimmed to the diameter your duty needs.
Seal-chamber runout under 0.05 mm
// Stage 3 of 5 //

Fabricate

Baseplates are welded from steel channel, stress-relieved, then machined flat where pump and motor sit, so the alignment holds after grouting.
Mounting pads flat to 0.2 mm per metre
// Stage 4 of 5 //

Assemble

Rotors are balanced, bearings fitted hot, seals set to their working length. Pump and motor are aligned on the baseplate with a laser.
Rotors balanced to G6.3
// Stage 5 of 5 //

Test

Every pump runs on the test loop against its curve before it ships: flow, head, power and vibration recorded to ISO 9906. Casings are pressure-tested at 1.5 times their rating.

Test loop

What every pump proves before it ships

5 points
Flow, head and power measured across the curve, including your duty point
1.5 × rating
Hydrostatic test pressure on every casing
mm/s
Vibration velocity recorded at both bearings
Spares

Spare-part kits

Kits contain everything for one job, so a repair is not held up by a missing gasket. Quote the casing number and we know what is fitted.
Kit
Contents
Series
When to fit
Seal kit
Mechanical seal faces, secondary seals, gasket set
VX, VI, VP
When the seal weeps steadily, or at overhaul
Wear-ring kit
Casing wear ring, impeller wear ring where fitted, gaskets
VX, VS, VP
When performance falls and clearance exceeds twice the new value
Bearing kit
Radial and thrust bearings, oil seals, circlips
VX, VS, VP
On condition: noise, temperature or vibration trend
Coupling kit
Elastomer spider and retaining screws
All base-mounted sets
At any alignment check where the spider is cracked or hard
Overhaul kit
Seal, wear-ring and bearing kits with impeller nut and lock washer
VX, VP
Planned overhaul, typically every 3 to 5 years
Maintenance

A simple maintenance schedule

Most pump failures announce themselves weeks ahead. These checks catch them early. Your operating manual gives the figures for your pump.
Interval
Check
Weekly
Listen for change, check seal for leakage, read oil level in the sight glass
Monthly
Bearing temperature, vibration reading, motor current against the commissioning value
Every 6 months
Coupling and alignment check, grease points where fitted, flange and foot bolts
Yearly
Performance check against the test curve, oil change for oil-bath frames
Every 3–5 years
Planned overhaul: seal, wear rings, bearings; impeller inspected for erosion

Got a duty point?

Let’s size your next pump.

Send flow, head and the liquid. An engineer replies with a selection, a curve and a price.
